The Bangkok branch of FCB has been acquired by digital marketing group YDM Thailand.

YDM Thailand, which has over 200 employees, says the move will expand its customer base by 30%. Tanapon Subsomboon, CEO of YDM Thailand, said he hoped the collaboration would lead to "mutual exchanges and learning in order to increase marketing competitiveness which will benefit towards customers and brands".

A "big picture" strategy that combines online and offline and the creative and digital expertise of both agencies will help to better meet the needs of customers, according to Subsomboon.

FCB Bangkok, which has 35 employees and is headed by MD Tutiya Disphanurat, counts Beiersdorf, Mondelez, Kiattana and Osotspa as key clients and recorded revenue last year of over 100 million baht (US$3.1 million).

"Joining force with YDM Thailand is to strengthen us and to make our services complete," said Disphanurat, who also revealed plans to incorporate AI and chatbots into future client-servicing plans.

The move is effective immediately.
