Dowling will be replaced by John Domas, currently CEO of Y&R Brands Poland, as CEO of Y&R Group Indonesia.

Domas started his career 16 years ago as a creative in the United States and at 29 was named the youngest CEO within Havas Worldwide's advertising network. He joined Y&R Poland in 2011.

In Sydney, Dowling will be taking on a newly created role, heading a group that comprises George Patterson Y&R, digital experiential agency VML and retail marketing specialist agency IdeaWorks.

During his two-year tenure in Indonesia, Dowling led Y&R Advertising and launched VML Qais Jakarta. He previously held the positions of board director at Iris Worldwide, Singapore, regional group account director at Y&R Singapore, and from 2003 to 2007 he was a group account director with George Patterson Y&R Sydney.

"Combining Y&R's strategic and creative skills with the retail expertise of IdeaWorks and the digital firepower of VML – will enable us to deliver great things for our clients,” said Dowling, adding that he was keen to return to the agency.
