Zalora names new CMO

Zalora has promoted Jo Bjordal to chief marketing officer, overseeing the full marketing operations of the Asian online fashion retailer. based in Kuala Lumpur.  Leading a team of 100 people, Bjordal replaces previous CMO Elias Pour, who had been in the role for less than two years before leaving to pursue other opportunities. 

Bjordal has been with Zalora since 2015, first leading its Indonesian marketing and commercial teams from Jakarta before taking up a regional role as Zalora's director of growth in 2019. In a release, Zalora says its growth marketing team hit "significant" milestones last year along with "super strong" growth performance.

Prior to joining Zalora, Bjordal was a management consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC Norway), advising clients on large transformation projects within retail, logistics and FMCG. 

“I am very excited with Jo as our new leader in marketing," said Zalora Group CEO Gunjan Soni. "He has a deep understanding and experience of our business, the industry, and the markets in which we operate. He is a strong, dynamic and values-driven leader with a great track record of delivering consistent results."
