This buffalo's letter may bring a tear to your eye

Sweet video for Tesco Lotus by GREYnJ United shows empathy for Thailand's rural communities.

This video expertly blends a bit of absurdity into a sweet family story, and in so doing proves the brand has genuine empathy for rural families that get separated because of economic necessity. Better yet, the company is backing up that concern with Tesco Lotus Pracharat (Plantation Project), an initiative that trains people to grow crops other than rice during the dry season and then buys the resulting vegetables for Tesco supermarkets.

This kind of thing is certainly a much better idea than this memorable Tesco ad.

Admittedly, Ad Nut was disappointed to learn that the buffalo is not a fellow literate creature. It would have been nice to have a penpal.

Note: The YouTube video above has low views because it's a special subtitled version for media use. The real in-market video has nearly 5 million views.

Bonus Ad Nut recommendation: If literate bovines interest you, Ad Nut believes you'll like the book Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Typeespecially if you have wee ones living in your burrow.
