Lee is the executive deputy chairman at Star Publications. The appointment recognises his contributions to the advertising fraternity, his service and commitment to the association and other initiatives such as the Putra Brand Awards, the Effie Awards, Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands, and the introduction of pitch fees.

“Vincent has been a courageous thought leader in the development phase of the creative economy,” Tony Savarimuthu, the 4As president, said. “He has been, and continues to be, an important advocate of creativity in business and the legitimacy of brand standards.”

Lee served as the 4As president from 2005 to 2011. He was given the award at a dinner attended by more than 100 leaders from the advertising and media industries.

“I am flattered by this honour, and feel privileged to have worked with some of the best people in the industry,” Lee said. “Together, we worked to progress the industry to where it is today. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished.”

He was also recognised for the services provided by ART, the day care centre he created to teach the discipline of art and theatre to the underprivileged.
