Her resignation comes on the heels of the recent announcement of Bates 141 Malaysia managing director Wong Fatt Weng that he would also be leaving later this year.

Antonio told Campaign Asia that while she does not have a definite destination as yet, she remains open to a host of options includingstaying within the advertising industry and switching to the client side.

In a statement, Bates 141 indicated that it would not find a replacement for the managing director position but instead appoint a consultant to play the role of a senior mentor to staff and develop new business for the agency. Bates 141 is expected to make the announcement next week.

It adds that the current team in the Philippines will work closely with Southeast Asia CEO Shubho Sarkar and the regional team to ensure that it continues to help its clients harness change and start new conversations.

Antonio joined the agency in September 2010 to take the place of Peter Sandor who decided to go back to his native Australia. She has been in the communications business for over 18 years, possessing a strong background in activation and advertising.

During her time at the helm of Bates 141, she helped boost the agency's client portfolio with new client account such as Nestle, Unilever, PruLife UK, Wacoal, Kenny Rogers Roasters and World Vision.

Prior to Bates 141, she worked at Ogilvy Action and JWT where she was the Southeast Asia regional management director for the Unilever Knorr account.
