Boeing, headquartered in Chicago and one of the world’s largest commercial airline builders, has recently faced stiff competition from European rival Airbus. The Southeast Asian market is increasingly important for Boeing’s commercial sector with a proliferation of low-cost and budget carriers in the region.
To be based in Singapore, Krishnan brings more than ten year of corporate communications experience to the company and has a background in aviation — having overseen the Embraer (aircraft) and Rolls Royce (engines) accounts during her time with Grayling public relations in Singapore. Following her work with Grayling, she was also instrumental in setting up the external communications system at shipping company Maersk Line in her capacity as assistant general manager.
Referencing the company’s growth prospects in Southeast Asia, Ken Morton, Asia-Pacific Communications director for Boeing, welcomed the appointment. “Krishnan has a strong understanding of the local markets which will help drive our communication efforts in the region,” he said.
