TAIWAN - Carat has promoted two executives to the roles of vice chairman and managing director, effective immediately.

YC Chu takes on the vice chairman role, bringing to it 30 years’ experience in advertising and media. He has spent more than a decade at Carat, part of Dentsu Aegis Network, and will provide operational and strategic guidance.

Joanne Liu is now managing director of the Taiwan office. Formerly general manager since 2012, she joined Carat in 2002 and will be responsible for developing integrated services and long-term business planning.

“I look forward to continuously learning the ropes and leading my team to overcome obstacles,” Liu said. “With the many years of experience under YC’s belt, I am assured that with his continued guidance, we will be able to establish a better working environment and provide comprehensive services for our clients.”

Chu said: “Joanne has shown that she is nothing but the best during her time in Carat. As we work together to lead the brand, she has always shown positivity and prioritises her clients’ needs. She really cares about her employees, and I am confident that she can lead Carat forward.”

Isao Miyauchi, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Taiwan, said: “I view the promotions as a well-deserved, natural progression - a wonderful succession plan which will bring Carat to a brighter future.”
