In his new role, Spencer will be based in Thailand where he will report to Henrik Anderson, CEO of Carlsberg IndoChina. He will assume his new role on February 1.

Spencer was previously marketing manager for Scottish & Newcastle in Paris and brand manager at Asia Pacific Breweries. He has also worked with Fonterra Brands across Asia-Pacific.

Yap joined Carlsberg in 2007 as market research manager and went on to head innovation and product development. She was instrumental in the launch of premium brands like Kornenbourg 1664, Kronenbourg Blanc, Asahi Super Dry and Somersby Apple Cider in Malaysia.

In a press release, Carslberg attributed the movement of “key talent” to its growth plans in Asia. In line with that, the Carlsberg group recently partnered with Singha Corporation, a leading beer company in Thailand. A new joint venture company is being established to oversee the marketing, sales and distribution of the Carlsberg brand and other brands in Thailand.

Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia make up the IndoChina region.
