The agency will work on Mars' flagship brand portfolio which includes popular chocolate brands like M&M's, Snickers, Dove, Mars, Twix and Maltesers.

DDB will be responsible for managing the brand strategy and marketing communications for the chocolate brands, including advertising, digital, print and OOH.

"We were very impressed with the work and results DDB Group Hong Kong has achieved with the  brands it already has in its portfolio," said Mars HK GM Piony Leung. "We need an agency that will enhance our billion dollar, world famous chocolate brands, and we believe DDB has the credentials to do just this in the Hong Kong market."

Simone Tam, MD of DDB Hong Kong and Guangzhou, said, "We're really excited about working on such prestigious brands. It's a tremendous accolade to be offered this opportunity without a pitch."

Reported in June last year, Starcom China won the US$120 million Mars-Wrigley's media pitch.

BBDO China took over creative duties from SapientNitro for Mars China's Snickers and M&M's brands last summer.
