Dentsu Aegis departures continue with UK leadership exits

Amplifi UK CEO Pippa Glucklich is leaving along with Gyro chair Kate Howe, who is also DAN's executive director of creative, customer experience and commerce.

Dentsu Aegis departures continue with UK leadership exits

Pippa Glucklich is leaving Amplifi UK after 18 months, as part of a string of senior departures from Dentsu Aegis Network this week.

She joined the media investment arm of DAN as chief executive in April last year having left her role as UK CEO of Starcom in 2017.

It is not known if Glucklich is leaving to join another company.

Glucklich’s departure follows a number of senior people leaving the business this week: Gyro chair Kate Howe is leaving to join MSQ Partners in February; Dentsu’s global creative CEO Dick van Motman is leaving at the end of the year; and Ruth Stubbs is leaving as global president of iProspect to become EMEA chief executive of Wavemaker in early 2020.

At Amplifi, Glucklich led a team of around 350 people and was responsible for investment, media partnerships, programmatic and branded content. Her remit was to make the business more client-centric.

Before Amplifi Glucklich spent five years at Publicis Media agency Starcom where she led the agency to win accounts including Lidl, Fiat Chrysler and Visa. DAN declined to comment on Glucklich's departure at time of writing.

Meanwhile, Kate Howe, Dentsu Aegis Network’s executive director, creative, customer experience and commerce, is leaving the business after three years. Howe is also chair of Gyro UK and director of B2B, international.

When she joins MSQ in the new year she will report to chief executive Peter Reid and join the board and will be required to help shape and implement the group's growth plans, which last month inlcuded backing Simon Davis who has set up Walk-In Media.

A spokesman for Dentsu Aegis said there "are no immediate plans to replace her" in either of her roles.

Euan Jarvie, Dentsu Aegis Network UK and Ireland chief executive, said: "Kate is an authentic and inspiring leader and has been a key member of my leadership team this year. While we are sad to see Kate leave, she leaves us with a strong management team in place to continue to grow our brands and our people. On behalf of everyone at Dentsu Aegis, I would like to thank her and wish her the very best for her next move."

Howe joined Gyro UK in 2014 from DraftFCB. She was promoted from managing director to chief executive in 2017 as part of a management rejig. In November 2018, she was named chief executive.

Dentsu Aegis bought Gyro in July 2016 and incorporated its business-to-business media agency Enterprise into Gyro.

Before Gyro, Howe held posts including group marketing director at Gala Coral.

Reid added: "Kate’s arrival is a critical piece in the MSQ jigsaw. We are developing quickly and having Kate on board will help drive our ambitious plans forward even more rapidly. She’s a highly collaborative and inspirational leader who brings vast experience in helping agencies and networks grow."
