Established in 2011, VeryStar is based in Shanghai and positioned as a “mobile and online retail commerce agency”. The agency has more than 70 staff and services clients including Uniqlo, Pizza Hut and KFC.

Nick Waters, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific, said he believes VeryStar is in a position to take advantage of the “rapid growth of the online and mobile commerce market” over the next few years.

“There is great talent within the VeryStar business, and I look forward to seeing their significant contribution to both Isobar and Dentsu Aegis Network in China,” said Waters. According to Dentsu Aegis Network, VeryStar is a certified WeChat and Alipay-certified mobile platform design agency.

Milan Jiang, founder and CEO of VeryStar will continue to lead VeryStar, reporting to Jane Lin-Baden, CEO of Isobar China Group.

Lin-Baden said the acquisition is strategically important to support Isobar’s ambition to becoming the “number one agency in brand commerce in China by 2018”.

“I’m confident that the added strength to the Isobar China leadership team and VeryStar’s specialist capabilities in mobile commerce and online retail will drive us to fulfil our goals,” Lin-Baden added.
