The second round of presentations will take place later this month and a result is expected to be announced shortly afterward.

"The pitch is for a new Disneyland project, with creative work kicking-off almost immediately. The project is to be a testing ground for the appointed agency. If it goes well, that agency could take over the whole creative account," a source said.

In an increasingly competitive entertainment sector Hong Kong Disneyland is primarily targeting local and mainland Chinese visitors, followed by overseas visitors.

Walt Disney and the Hong Kong government recently reached a deal to expand Hong Kong Disneyland theme park at an estimated cost of US$465 million. The construction for the expansion project is expected to start this year.

Disneyland's creative pitch started off with over five agencies in its first round.
