A key reason behind the decision was that Coory planned to spend more time with his family in Hong Kong and Australia. However, he indicated that while he is resigning from his full-time positions, he would continue working with the firm on a consulting basis.

The PR firm indicated that the search for his replacement is ongoing both internally and externally, looking for the best candidate to build on Coory’s contributions to the company. Coory will remain in his role until his successor has been appointed, according to Edelman.

Coory has spent the past seven years with the firm, driving the business growth in Hong Kong and Taiwan highlighted by a 30 per cent revenue growth over the past year.

“We understand Coory’s decision to leave his post and are grateful for all his contributions to the firm,” remarked David Brain, president and CEO of Edelman Asia-Pacific. “We’re glad we’ll still be able to work with him on a part-time basis moving forward.”
