Facebook charges Cacafly with ad sales in Taiwan

TAIPEI – Social networking giant Facebook has picked Taiwanese online community marketing company Cacafly as its advertising agency in Taiwan.

Founded in 2009, Cacafly has been helping companies establish social networks and promote their brands on Facebook for two years.

Cacafly is tasked with selling advertising on Facebook's Taiwan homepage, worth an estimated US$3.4 million a year.

According to Taiwan media reports, Facebook has over 11 million active users in Taiwan. Globally, Facebook boasts with more than 500 million users.

In February this year, Facebook launched an office in Hong Kong. A few months earlier in December, CEO Mark Zuckerberg toured three Chinese internet companies' Beijing headquarters in a low-key visit, stimulating widespread speculation of expansion into the Mainland.
