Fung will lead the trading team tasked to maximise value and benefits for GroupM clients in its four agencies through consolidation and negotiation initiatives, including the development of new tools and systems.

Melanie Lo, CEO of GroupM Hong Kong, told Campaign Asia-Pacific that this is a homecoming for Fung as they worked together as founding members of Mindshare Hong Kong 15 years ago and have a good working chemistry already.

A media veteran with more than 20 years of leading industry experience, Fung had spent the early part of his career at WPP agencies, including as buying director at JWT.

Throughout his agency career at Mindshare, ZenithOptimedia and Carat, and most recently as business director at Universal McCann—as well as running his own catering business—he has managed successful negotiations for global and national clients including Unilever, Nestlé, AIA, Smartone and Hong Kong Telecom.
