It is believed that the pitch was called early this month.

This is the first time IMG World will work with Cohn & Wolfe XPR. The Iskandar Johor Open will become the Asian Tour’s season-ending tournament this year when it returns to the Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club from 13 to 16 December.

Adrian Lee (pictured), group managing director at Cohn & Wolfe XPR, said while the brief was specific in some areas in regards to the usual deliverables expected, there are also other aspects left open that allowed the team to push the boundaries and come up with an integrated PR campaign.

Cohn & Wolfe XPR’s portfolio of clients includes TaylorMade-adidas Golf, UFIT, BMW, Barclays, Spectrum Worldwide, MetaSport, X-League and the Singapore Cricket Club.

The agency has also managed integrated PR campaigns for events such as OCBC Cycle Singapore/ Malaysia, BMW Efficient Dynamics Race, SCC Rugby 7’s, SCC Twenty20, the MetaMan Triathlon and the Barclays Bare Your Sole Marathon.

“Cohn & Wolfe XPR understands our business and the experience we are trying to create for this year’s Iskandar Johor Open,” Grant Slack, senior vice president at IMG Golf, said. “We have confidence in working with the team to run an impactful integrated PR campaign for the Iskandar Johor Open 2012.”
