Indian Embassy names agency to promote cultural initiatives in Indonesia

The appointment was made without a pitch early this month. It marks the first time the embassy has appointed an agency.

The one-year contract will see the agency working on trade and bilateral relationships while also being involved in the design for the brand identity and other communications related to the celebration of ‘100 Years of Indian Cinema’ in Indonesia. The Thinking Machine has also developed a film showcasing the outreach activities of the Indian Embassy in the country.

The Indian Embassy in Jakarta is looking at promoting bilateral exchanges between the two countries to foster and build upon India and Indonesia’s long friendship. Gurjit Singh, Indian Ambassador to Indonesia, ASEAN & Timor Leste, noted that India and Indonesia have close cultural ties dating back to ancient times.

“To ensure this continued kinship even today, we endeavour to constantly create exciting experiences and activities that showcases India to the people in Indonesia,” he added. “We are currently promoting the celebration of ‘100 years of Indian Cinema’ here.”

Rajiv R. Menon, CCO at The Thinking Machine, said it is designing some cheerful work to celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema in Indonesia here.

The Thinking Machine previously worked with the embassy on several projects and consulting services.
