It remains unclear where Sanchez’s next move will be after serving his notice period of three months, although he is understood to be in conversations with several organisations both client and agency side.

Sanchez's resignation follows the appointment of Alan VanderMolen, president of Edelman Asia-Pacific to the newly-created role of president and CEO, global practices and diversified insights businesses.

David Brain moved from his current position of president and CEO of Edelman Europe, Middle East and Africa to take over leadership of Edelman Asia-Pacific. Both roles take effect 1 January 2011.

During his tenure at Edelman, Sanchez was a driving force behind over a dozen new account wins for Edelman.

These include Amadeus for Asia-Pacific - the world’s biggest travel technology company based Bangkok, the Media Development Authority managing the PayTV/ Sports rights issues, Levi Strauss global launch of its Denizen brand in China and Unilever's Ben and Jerry’s CSR strategy campaign.
