The appointment is effective 15 September, and Mishra (pictured) will work together with Von Selle for a smooth transition. Von Selle will assume the role of chief operating officer at JWT Africa, and will be based in Beirut.

With nearly 20 years of multi-market industry experience, Mishra was most recently with Lowe India as its chief growth officer. He served as managing director of Lowe Vietnam in 2005, where he transformed the office into an award winning agency and one of the strongest operations in Lowe’s Asia Pacific network.

He has worked with clients such as Unilever, Nestlé, Coca Cola, Maruti-Suzuki, Gillette, ITC and Mercedes Benz.

Michael Maedel, president and CEO of JWT Asia Pacific, noted that the appointment of Sabyasachi and movement of Chris to the Africa operations is another reflection of JWT’s dedication to harnessing senior talent who bring broad geographic experience and perspectives and deploying them to its offices around the world.

“We are very pleased to be able to create a leadership team of this calibre across our network. Chris has done an amazing job in increasing JWT’s footprint and building our reputation in Vietnam. We have big ambitions for our future in Vietnam and Indochina and I am confident Sabyasachi, with his knowledge and expertise in the market, will be able to take the business through the region’s next growth phase,” he added.

Von Selle started his career 15 years ago with JWT New York. He moved to Asia in 2001 to helm JWT Malaysia, after assignments in Frankfurt and Hamburg.

He then took the reins at JWT Vietnam in 2006 after further assignments in Manila and Dubai.
