ASIA-PACIFIC - Ken Mandel, managing director of Salesforce Marketing Cloud Asia, has left to pursue other opportunities, and his role will be absorbed by Charlie Wood, area VP, of Japan, India and Asia-Pacific.

Mandel joined Salesforce Marketing Cloud in September 2012 when Salesforce acquired Buddy Media and merged with Radian6 to form an end-to-end business solution. At the time, Mandel was Buddy Media's managing director for Asia.

Wood, likewise, was a regional vice-president with Radian6 and took on his role at Salesforce following the merger. He is based in Sydney.

"It was a fantastic run with Buddy Media," Mandel told Campaign Asia-Pacific this morning. "We sold the company for $800 million, and after the successful transition, I spent more than six months on the integration. And it all went well, so now it's time to do something else."

At present Mandel is evaluating his options but feels "no rush to jump into anything". He hinted that his next job move may be in a different industry from business technology. He plans to use his break between jobs to spend time with family and on Jam Ventures, a boutique startup accellerator he founded in March 2007.

In a statement sent to Campaign Asia-Pacific, Salesforce said: "Ken Mandel has left salesforce.com to pursue other opportunities. The company is grateful for his contributions to the success of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud. We wish him the best in his future endeavors."
