Local PR company Eastwei signs retainer contract with Puma

SHANGHAI – Puma is believed to have appointed local PR company Eastwei Relations to handle its PR business in China.

According to undisclosed sources, the retainer contract was signed in July, and Eastwei has already started mapping out PR plans for Puma.

In May, Jamaican sprinter and three-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt, was in Shanghai to attend a Diamond League event. Eastwei was there to help Puma, which is Bolt's sponsor.

Eastwei was founded in 1994 and claims to be China's leading local strategic PR consultancy. It boasts with over 100 employees in its Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu offices. It now has about 30 retainer clients, including household names like P&G, Konica Minolta, Kraft, Ikea, Sony, Electrolux, Absolut and Porsche.
