Martin Cowie to lead people and development across OMG Australia

SYDNEY - Martin Cowie has rejoined OMG Australia to head people and development for the group following Carolyn Maloney's departure, based out of Sydney.

Cowie (pictured), former commercial director of OMD and managing director of Carat, left the group three years ago to start his own consulting firm, Cowie Consulting. He also joined Keely Pope Media Recruitment (KPMR) in September 2010 where he set up the executive search venture, KPMR executive last February. He will be responsible for talent development across the group's agencies: OMD, PHD and Foundation in Australia. 

Commenting on the appointment, Leigh Terry, CEO Omnicom Media Group Australia & New Zealand said “Cowie’s background as an agency lead and leadership and development specialist means he’s in a unique position to understand the role training and staff connectivity plays in a people focused business."
 
Maloney, who has held the role for the past seven years, is leaving to "focus on her family and a new business venture," said Peter Horgan, CEO OMD Australia. Cowie's appointment will be effective 1 June.
