Lim will remain in Beijing. In her new national role she will be responsible for the strategic growth and operations across all six of Mindshare China's offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Chengdu.

She will report to Bessie Lee, currently acting president of Mindshare China in addition to her role as CEO of GroupM China, while the search for an agency head continues.

"This is a well deserved promotion for Siewping after eight years of outstanding work at Mindshare, starting from her role as AOR director for Unilever at Mindshare Malaysia in 2002, business director at Mindshare Tokyo in 2003, general manager at Mindshare Guangzhou in 2004 and managing director/ leader of Mindshare Beijing in 2007. Siewping is a great example of talent and career development within the agency," said Bessie Lee.

Lim also worked for Grey and MediaCom Malaysia before joining Mindshare.

Meanwhile, Danny Xu has been promoted to leader of Mindshare Guangzhou and will report to Lim. Xu will replace former leader Sufen Liu, who will be allocated a new role within Mindshare or GroupM in the near future.

Xu joined Mindshare Guangzhou as business director in 2005. Two years later he was transferred to Mindshare Beijing as partner of client leadership in 2007. He was instrumental in the acquisition of planning accounts for clients including Skandia, FJ Daimler and China Tourism.

"Mindshare Guangzhou is a very important office for our strategic business growth in South China. We have been leading the market with an impressive clientele, top talent and a strong brand. With Danny in place, we expect to strengthen our ability to continue the momentum and expand our business," said Lim.

Earlier last month, Lisa Wei, partner of client leadership of Mindshare China, resigned following a long-standing career at the agency.
