OMD places ex-Mindshare Danny Xu as managing director of Guangzhou office

GUANGZHOU - OMD China has appointed Danny Xu as the managing director of its Guangzhou office to drive strategic growth of operations in South China.

Xu is an advertising veteran with 15 years of experience across media, brand and creative agencies. He began his career at Ogilvy Advertising in Beijing. Prior to joining OMD China, he spent more than seven years in Mindshare and left as managing director of Mindshare Guangzhou.

Siew Ping Lim, CEO of OMD China, whom Xu reports to, said the agency has grown rapidly over the past few years, with "major strides made in Shanghai and Beijing".

Lim now aims to grow OMD's South China operations. "We are confident that Danny’s well-rounded communications background, keen market insights, diverse industry experience will elevate our capabilities in Guangzhou," she added.
