Ogilvy PR Melbourne announces new management

MELBOURNE - Ogilvy Public Relations Australia has announced that the current managing director of its Melbourne office, Lelde McCoy, will take on a newly created national role, with Alexandra Kelly stepping up to head the Victorian agency.

McCoy will become MD of OgilvyEngage in Australia, which has seen strong and sustained growth in its specialist social marketing and behaviour change practice, with client wins across both government and private sectors during the past 12 months.

OgilvyEngage is a global behaviour change practice launched in June 2012.

The agency said the new role was created to make sure McCoy and her team can focus solely on OgilvyEngage and to reflect their market share.

Kelly moves from head of consumer brands, Ogilvy PR Melbourne, to replace McCoy as MD of the Melbourne office. She will be charged with further driving the growth of the agency, integration with the wider Ogilvy & Mather group of companies and expanding the Ogilvy PR Melbourne offer.

Kelly and McCoy will report to Kieran Moore, Ogilvy PR Australia CEO, who said the new structure had been implemented to “reflect the growth of both consumer brand communications and social marketing, and the massive amount of confidence that Ogilvy PR has in the Melbourne team and the Melbourne marketplace”.

McCoy will be backed by the skills of director Kelly Ward, a PR veteran with more than 25 years’ experience working with large corporations and government departments, to build brands, enhance reputation and prompt behavioural change.

Tammy Walker retains her role as the office’s general manager and will work alongside Kelly to continue to aggressively grow the Melbourne market.
