OMD maintains grip on Kao's Singapore media

SINGAPORE - Japanese cosmetics and laundry-care company Kao Corporation is believed to have retained OMD Singapore as its media agency after a pitch that involved Dentsu Media and Maxus.

The brief is reported to be for the Singapore market only.

In Asia, the 122-year-old company operates in 27 countries and owns brands such as laundry detergent range Attack and Japanese cosmetic brand Kanebo.

Its product categories include personal care, fabric and home care, feminine hygiene, chemicals and professional-use cleaning products.

Kao’s key cosmetic brands include Jergens, Biore, Ban, Curel and Guhl among others. Its flagship brand is Jergens, which was introduced in 1882 for use on bar soaps. Since then, it has grown into a leader in the health and beauty category, with products as familiar as Original Jergens Lotion and Jergens natural glow moisturizers.
