PHD Hong Kong hires digital lead from CIMB Malaysia

HONG KONG - CIMB Malaysia's director of internet strategies Karen Thong has relocated to Hong Kong to take on the role of head of digital for PHD.

Thong's key focus is to direct the strategic integration of digital into PHD's media planning, as well as score higher marks with clients with the growth of digital expertise.

An 18-year specialist in media and digital marketing, Thong's career portfolio spans industries ranging from telecommunications, FMCG, automotive, travel, retail and most recently financial services at CIMB.

Her experience on the client-side involved developing the areas of ecommerce marketing and digital banking for the Malaysian bank.

Thong is not a stranger to the Omnicom network, having worked with OMD Malaysia earlier in her career.
