Publicis Media ANZ chief Tony Barbour departs

Tony Barbour, Publicis Media's chief executive for Australia and New Zealand is leaving the business after six and a half years at the media holding group. Barbour had only held the role since his promotion in July. Prior to that, he had served as the CEO of Starcom Australia.

In a media statement Publicis Groupe ANZ CEO Michael Rebelo thanked Barbour for his commitment and integrity, wishing him the best of luck in future.

“In the time he has been chief executive of Publicis Media, Toby has galvanised the leadership team across Australia and New Zealand, brought in two new world-class CEOs to lead Spark Foundry and Starcom, and forged a clear direction and purpose for our media agency brands to set them up for success and growth as we continue to evolve our business," Rebelo said.

Publicis Media did not announce any plans to replace Barbour, nor is it clear what his next move will be.

In the statement, Barbour said: “In my years at Publicis Media and Starcom, I’ve been fortunate enough to be in leadership positions enabling business transformation as part of the broader Publicis Groupe vision. I firmly believe Publicis has the right vision for future growth, and I wish them every success.”
