RoadShow replaces Buspak as ad sales agent for Kowloon Motor Bus

HONG KONG - RoadShow will become the exclusive advertising sales agent of Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB), starting 1 November. It replaces Buspak, which has held the business since 2005.

Buspak will retain its exclusive advertising rights for rival Hong Kong public transport operators New World First Bus and Citybus.

Roadshow won the advertising rights for KMB's bus interiors earlier this year; it has now taken over the bus body advertising from Buspak.

In order to strengthen the offering of their networks, both Roadshow and Buspak have introduced new advertising formats in recent months: Roadshow has in-bus stickers and 'domination buy' involving bus exteriors and in-bus stickers; Buspak, meanwhile, has rolled out 'webus' (WiFi capability).

A media agency source commented: “With this change, which brings in more competition, we would expect both operations to bring in more new media formats on buses in the future.”

KMB is the largest bus operator in Hong Kong, with nearly 4,000 buses covering most of Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories.

RoadShow, established in 2000, is engaged in outdoor advertising in China and Hong Kong. It operates multimedia on-board advertising aimed at passengers riding public transit vehicles in Hong Kong. It also manages an advertising network in China covering more than 200 cities.
