Robin8, a Shanghai-based influencer search engine and marketplace, has just acquired Launchpilots, another influencer-marketing platform focused on millennials in Greater China and Southeast Asia.

Launchpilots will add its 25,000 millennial influencers that it mobilises on Facebook, Instagram, Weibo and Wechat into Robin8's search engine and marketplace of over 30 million influencers in China. Clients of Launchpilots include Tumblr, Nike, Skullcandy, Yelps, Toms, and Converse.

Jah Ying Chung, CEO and founder of Launchpilots, as well as SK OwYong, VP of engineering, will join the Robin8 executive team and establish its Hong Kong office after the acquisition. Both will work closely with Tan and Hassan Miah, Robin8 CTO.

"Now with Launchpilots, we can add Facebook and Instagram to our growing list of social media data integration," added Tan. Robin8 profiles and ranks influencers by crawling for public data from over 12 social media platforms in China including Weibo, Wechat, Youku, iQiyi, Bilibili, Little Red Book and Taobao. Post-acquisition, Robin8's social reach is said to increase to over 1.18 billion in 16 countries.
