Shake-up at Media Prima as Rahman departs

KUALA LUMPUR - Media Prima's group managing director and chief executive officer Abdul Rahman Ahmad (pictured) will be ending his tenure with the media company upon the conclusion of his present contract in August 2009.

Shake-up at Media Prima as Rahman departs
Datuk Amrin Awaluddin, the current CEO of TV3, has been appointed as the new MPB chief operating officer and the successor to Rahman.

TV3 will now directly come under Datuk Seri Farid Ridzuan, the group CEO of Television Networks and MPB International, who will continue to oversee all MPB television networks, content and international operations.

Rahman will continue to work closely with Amrin, Farid and Datuk Johan Jaaffar, the recently appointed executive chairman of MPB, throughout the remainder of his tenure to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities and operations.

"It has been an honour and privilege to be part of the dynamic team at MPB, and after eight challenging years in this fast-paced industry, I am grateful for having had the experience to work with such a supportive board, talented and passionate colleagues and incredible business partners,” said Rahman.

Rahman, who has been with the group since 2001, initially joined the company as executive director of TV3 (as part of his role as the CEO of MRCB, which was then the holding company of TV3) before assuming his current post at MPB upon the completion of the comprehensive debt and corporate restructuring of MRCB, TV3 and the New Straits Times (NSTP) Group in 2003.
