TBWA Asia has announced the creation of Bolt, a new production and post-production unit for Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore.
Established to fulfil the growing amount and range of content needs for clients in the region, Bolt offers a full suite of production capabilities. It will also absorb Flare Studios, TBWA’s Asia-based commissioning platform, which can connect brands to more than 16,000 creators.
Bolt will be led by Sung Lin Gun, as regional head of post-production. A twice Emmy-nominated executive producer and director, Sung has many years’ production experience, most recently working in China at a VFX post-production house. Before this, Sung founded Singapore animation studio Peach Blossom Media, and was also a director at design and illustration house Imaginary Friends Studio.
He said Bolt will deliver “high-quality VFX and post-production across Asia. Asia’s digital platforms are distinctive, especially in China, resulting in new forms of digital content, which requires unconventional thinking.”
Ian Pearman, TBWA Asia president, said: “We believe there is a massive opportunity for post-production to not just finish but to originate high-quality assets for clients at ever lower cost, and that requires a new level of skill, experience and ambition. Which is why we are so pleased Lin Gun is joining us.”
