At TBWA Tequila, Godwin will be responsible for digital creative direction, digital and communications strategy, CRM/ ACR strategy, information architecture, conceptualisation and writing and project management.
Commenting on the new appointment, TBWA Tequila’s group executive creative director, Jeff Orr said, “The internet is fast becoming the de facto canvas of choice for us to deliver engaging, creative and impactful ideas in non-traditional ways."
Senior vice-president of strategic planning and digital Jordan Chua responded, "I'm thrilled that Stuart has signed up to our cause and he comes with impeccable credentials."
He added, "The proliferation of the web as an increasingly compelling communications channel further fuels our industry's need to always be ahead in digital services and media. Stuart will add renewed strategic impetus and creative intensity to the digital work at TBWA."
Speaking of his appointment, Godwin said, “I am delighted to be here at TBWA Tequila among the most creative people in the industry. I see tremendous opportunity for our clients that will set the industry alight and I intend to fan the flames."
Godwin began his career with Lindsay Smithers FCB in South Africa and later joined Tool, part of the TBWA group. Here he constructed the first website for Microsoft that garnered a New York award.
After a stint at Grey Advertising followed by Ogilvy and Mather and then Tinderbox as joint CD, Godwin went on to set up his own shop called Electricmonk that landed him Siemens and First National Bank together with South African Airways.
He came to Malaysia to work for Draft in Kuala Lumpur before moving to XM for over four years.
