Vocanic names new country head

KUALA LUMPUR – Karen Koay has joined Vocanic Malaysia as the country head. She will be reporting to Ian McKee, Singapore-based CEO of Vocanic.

A specialist in digital and direct marketing, Koay will be responsible for the delivery of digital strategies and projects for the agency’s Malaysia-based clients, such as CIMB, DiGi and Hennessy. She will also be tasked to further develop the agency’s business and operations of the local office.

Prior to this appointment, she was the group account director of Proximity Malaysia, growing its business organically whilst advocating digital marketing solutions to ensure collaboration across Proximity and BBDO.

She also worked on managing relationships across Proximity’s host of clients, including Astro, Hotlink, Fonterra, Great Eastern, HP and DHL.

A business systems graduate from Monash University in Australia, Koay has over eight years of experience, leading and managing in different industries, with clients such as Toyota, Celcom, Johnson’s Baby, Dunhill, Mead Johnson, Olympus and ICI Dulux.
