The firm said it has been aggressively building its teams throughout the region since 2010, growing staff count by more than 22 per cent each year. Its digital practice, Studio D, has also recorded double-digit growth in the past two years, it said.

As part of the agency’s growth plans, Matthew Lackie will move from his position of senior vice president of South Asia to take on the newly created role of deputy lead/senior vice president for Asia-Pacific.

Lackie said that he aims to grow Waggener-Edstrom’s digital business across Asia-Pacific, adding that he will focus on business optimisation and learning and development.

“We want to make sure we are creating the right platforms and training for people to grow their teams," he said. "There is a lot of competition in the market, and we want to create an environment that is attractive and meets the needs of the people.”

Sarah Jackson, former regional HR director for Edelman, has been appointed to the same post at Waggener Edstrom to lead and support the agency’s regional expansion.
