Navalta announced her retirement from UM last year to spend more time on a number of social advocacy projects.

Her latest appointment follows the departure of previous CEO Kiran Vaswani who left last year. Susan Dar Santos will serve as general manager.

In her new role, to be made effective on 9 June, the media agency veteran will oversee all aspects of ZenithOptimedia Philippines’ business, with specific focus on furthering relationships with clients, mentoring and developing talent.

Navalta will also work closely with regional management in the marketing and positioning of the Publicis Groupe network as well as in developing new business opportunities.

On her appointment, Philip Talbot, CEO ZenithOptimedia Asia-Pacific, said: “Venus and I met a little by chance, but we got talking and realised we shared many passions and beliefs, both professionally and socially. It didn’t take me long to realise that with her experience and qualities Venus would be a great asset for us.”

“ZenithOptimedia has been hugely successful as a network in the region in recent years, but maybe a little too quiet in the Philippines. I’m sure Venus will change that. I know she will be a huge asset to us both locally and throughout our network,” added Talbot.

Navalta commented: “Secured in the knowledge that I have led a successful agency for many years, I was careful in exploring the opportunities that came my way after UM.”

She added: “Phil’s direct, hands-on approach piqued my curiosity to find out more. Aside from the shared values, the agency’s growth and stable management team impressed me. I was excited to take the challenge of making ZO’s office in the Philippines not just at par but one of their best offices in the world.”
