DATA POINTS: LeBron James is most popular Western celeb in China
Synthesio, a social-media monitoring company, listened to celebrity related conversations across the Chinese social web over a six-month period ending mid-February 2013 and created an infographic that ranked the top 25 celebrities based on the number of online mentions on Sina Weibo, Youku, Renren, and Tencent Weibo. NBA basketball player LeBron James took the top spot, followed by singers Rihanna and Justin Bieber, respectively. Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift rounded out the top five.
