DDB New Zealand, Steinlager throw support behind its rugby stars

NEW ZEALAND - With the country set to host rugby's biggest event this year, DDB New Zealand has rolled out a new 'We believe' campaign for Steinlager. It aims to inspire local consumers and fans looking for that elusive second win for their beloved All Blacks.

The 60-second TVC shows the story of a die-hard New Zealand All-Blacks fan, who celebrated the country's victory  over two decades ago. He has saved an iconic white Steinlager can for New Zealand's next championship, hoping to savour the taste of victory then. It's been 24 years, but he's confident that this year will finally see the second win.

DDB New Zealand explained that as an unconditional supporter, Steinlager has been through the same highs and lows as the All Blacks' fans over the last 24 years. While there has been that one magic moment, it has been a long time "between drinks" since New Zealand has tasted glory, the agency said.

DDB New Zealand said the idea was to transport audiences back to the 1980s, including the white can that Steinlager was then presented in. The agency wanted to bring back the white can to remind the country of the glory days.
