The tender process culminated in a final shortlist of five agencies including incumbent OMD and MEC.

Anupriya Acharya, CEO at Aegis Media Singapore, said this integrated account will include planning, buying, digital and outdoor.

Lin Pei Hua, vice president of marketing communications at CAG told Campaign that the majority of its media planning and buying business will be for CAG Singapore - but also for its international arm which already helps manage airports in the Middle East and China, and is further eyeing opportunities in Europe and even Africa.

"We market Changi to airlines and route-planners, to both business-to-business and business-to-consumers as well," she said.

Changi Airport Group (Singapore) was formed in June 2009 and was closely followed by the corporatisation of Singapore Changi Airport. As the company managing Changi Airport, CAG undertakes key functions focusing on airport operations and management, air hub development, commercial activities and airport emergency services. Through its subsidiary Changi Airports International, the group invests in and manages foreign airports to spread the success of Changi Airport internationally.

CAG's Lin said Carat was appointed because of its strategic capabilities, as well as its track record of creative and cost-effective integrated media campaigns. "During the pitch, the Carat team provided quality insights and demonstrated a strong understanding of our business. We look forward to a fruitful partnership with the agency," said Lin.

Gan Boon Guan, COO Carat Singapore expressed his delight at having been selected, saying he felt "very privileged" to have the opportunity to work with CAG.
