CBS Interactive appoints Chin as regional consumer commercial strategy head

ASIA-PACIFIC – CBS Interactive (CBSi) has appointed Gary Chin (pictured) as head of consumer commercial strategy for the region, based in Singapore.

Chin:
Chin: "Tremendous branded content opportunities"

Chin will be responsible for revenue and growth strategies for the company’s CNET, GameSpot, TV.com and CBSNews.com platforms along with other brands within the network.

Chin will report to Wendy Hogan, VP and MD for Asia-Pacific. He has 13 years’ experience in sales and marketing in the IT and digital marketing sectors, and was formerly at Komli (previously Admax Network).

CBS is looking to build its presence in the area of live gaming and e-sports. Chin’s appointment follows CBS Interactive’s global partnership with TwitchTV and Major League Gaming (MLG).

CBS Interactive Games claims to serve more than three billion minutes of live gaming and e-sports monthly.

In a statement, Chin said the developments at CBS signaled “tremendous branded content opportunities and I am really excited at what we can do to bridge advertisers with our audiences”.
