A Singapore native, Wong has been working in China for 14 years, with previous stints in Taiwan and Hong Kong. He has held the national ECD post at Draftfcb China since December 2010.

Jooho Jeon, global vice president of Innocean and head of China regional headquarters, said Wong's appointment is "bound to bring Innocean's creative level in China up to a higher standard". Bob Isherwood, worldwide creative advisor of the Korean agency, added that Wong will provide input to the company's newly formed global creative council.

"I love the fact that Innocean is the in-house agency of Hyundai Motor Group, and that indicates opportunity to do great work for the brand,” Wong commented.

Editor's note: After publication, Draftfcb contacted us with the following comments:

"In his role at Draftfcb, Mr. Wong has held strong reporting lines to Jonathan Harries, the agency’s global chief creative officer. Throughout this transition period Mr. Wong will work with Mr. Harries and the agency’s China creative leadership to effect a smooth handover of work in progress. Mr. Harries will be in day-to-day contact with the creative leadership and overall creative team in China until a new ECD is in place. The opportunity for creative leadership of the Draftfcb China operations will be one of the highest priorities for incoming CEO Edward Bell, who starts work in March."
