Ngao is to focus on expanding the channel portfolio, distribution networks, advertising sales capabilities and further localising content for the Chinese audience. One of the major pushes in China is the National Geographic Channel.

Ngao will be moving from the Hong Kong operation to Beijing and report to Joanne Tsai, senior VP and general manager of China and Taiwan at FIC. Ngao was the VP of affiliates sales and partnerships for Asia in Hong Kong.

FIC in China will be working closely with local production and filmmakers Shanghai Media Group and China International Television Corporation. “China is an important market for FIC, and we are committed to working closely with our local partners – in distribution, advertising sales and production,” said Tsai.

Bunnag separately will lead in Thailand and report to Avi Himatsinghani, senior VP and general manager for Southeast Asia at FIC.

Strengthening local businesses and affiliate relationships, boosting advertising sales and tailoring content on a local level are some of Bunnag’s responsibilities.

FIC Thailand will put emphasis National Geographic Channel, Star Movies, Star World, Channel [V] Thailand and the recently launched tvN, a Korean general entertainment channel.

“As Thailand’s pay TV scene becomes more dynamic and competitive, FIC is preparing to aggressively pursue growth by offering more top-quality channels, localised for Thai viewers,” said Himatsinghani.
