German brand consultancy Greenkern hires Zhang Yixin as MD of Beijing office

BEIJING - Greenkern, the strategy division of one of Germany's largest independent agency groups, the Aperto Group, has appointed Zhang Yixin as MD of its Beijing Office.

Zhang will be responsible for enhancing the agency’s service offering and will work alongside managing directors Tom van Dillen and Jan Pilhar. 

She is tasked with spearheading the growth of the agency's business with its Chinese clients, as well as its MNC clients.

Pilhar told Campaign Asia-Pacific that Greenkern has been in China for five years. "So far, we have been mainly working with automotive brands here, for example: Volkswagen, Shanghai-Volkswagen, Skoda, Lamborghini, BMW China and BMW-Brilliance." 

In Germany, the agency also serves Coca-Cola, Siemens, Mini, Sony and others. Overall, the company has around 400 people, with around 25 staff in China.
 
Zhang has broad experience in business and brand consulting in China and the US, having advised clients such as Huawei, China Telecom, Samsung, Visa, Bank of China, Air China, PetroChina and Johnson & Johnson.

Most recently, she was senior manager of strategic planning and management at Datang Telecom. Prior to that, she headed Millward Brown Optimor’s China operations, as well as working at consultancy FutureBrand.
