Both Ng and Cheng have been working for DDB Greater China for close to six years. Ng was most recently MD of Tribal DDB between 2008 and 2011 and then become digital development officer for DDB Greater China, while Cheng was ECD of DDB Beijing.

Cheng was previously joint executive creative director of DDB Guoan Beijing, and prior to that executive creative director of Tribal DDB Hong Kong.

The DDB Shanghai head role was vacated when Jesse Lin, ex-president of DDB Shanghai took up the Greater China CEO role at McCann, as in February 2012.

Both Ng and Cheng will focus on bringing in multi-disciplinary talent to execute best-in-class creative ideas across channels and disciplines, according to the company.

"Jit and Tim each have more than 15 years of hands-on agent of change and digital leadership roles since the dawn of the digital-era, holding more than five years of leadership roles within DDB Greater China Group," said Richard Tan, president and CEO of DDB Group North China. "I’m convinced they will break new ground and take DDB Group Shanghai to new heights with their enterprising spirit and infectious passion.”
