Kobe Bryant & Jay Chou face off again in Sprite TVC rematch

SHANGHAI - Sprite has again mixed basketball and pop music in the form of Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant and hip-hop star Jay Chou for its new TV commercial.

Kobe Bryant & Jay Chou face off again in Sprite TVC rematch

Bryant and Chou meet again for a face-off this year following their first encounter at a basketball match in Sprite’s 2011 campaign, when Bryant is shown to beat Chou in a basketball match thanks to his basketball skills only to be surprised at the end when Chou makes a slam-dunk while on a skateboard.

In the 2012 TVC edition, Chou challenges Bryant for a music one-on-one game while playing on a shoulder synthesiser keyboard. Bryant initially refuses, but then takes to the stage for some guitar-scrapping after a sip of Sprite gives him "courage".

Under the slogan “Be Uncontainable”, the two celebrities will lead the Sprite campaign that aims to encourage Chinese youth to tap within themselves for inspiration, break free from self-imposed restraints and express themselves passionately.

The Sprite rematch TVC is being broadcast nationally in China in the first phase of the campaign from 5 to 19 March. Phase 2 of the campaign will include a kick-off event with public appearances by Chou and basketball matches in various parts of the country.
