MDA launches tender for campaign to promote public-service broadcasts

SINGAPORE - The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) has put out a tender for an agency to conceptualise and implement an integrated education campaign around public-service broadcasting.

MDA launches tender for campaign to promote public-service broadcasts
The MDA wants to create awareness of public-service programmes that promote social values, racial and religious harmony as well as those that celebrate local culture and heritage.

Public service programmes, such as REM The Next Generation, a kids sleuth drama, and BlogTV.Sg, an interactive forum discussing topical issues produced by MediaCorp News, are designed to promote certain values and a connected society. In addition, these programmes aim to stimulate learning and knowledge.

The public education drive would incorporate an integrated marketing plan that leverages media, events, consumer activities, and the use of social media and outdoor publicity.

As part of the campaign, the MDA is further looking for a public relations agency to provide publicity support to convey the positive message of media classification.

The campaign will run for three months and is slated for January until April 2010.

Earlier this month, the MDA appointed Edelman as its PR agency partner in Singapore.
