HONG KONG - MediaCom has promoted associate director Danny Chung to succeed business director Eva Lam, who resigned last week for personal reasons after working in the company since 2006.

The outgoing business director has worked with WPP agencies for 19 years, while her successor Chung (pictured) has 15 years of experience in the media industry.

“Both Lam and Chung have co-led the business teams and helped to win a number of new businesses including General Mills (for Häagen-Dazs and Wan Chai Ferry), and Fonterra (Anlene and Anmum Milk brand)," Cecilia Chan, the agency’s MD told Campaign Asia-Pacific. "We thank Eva for helping us to build a very strong team in the past eight years, and it is a natural transition for us.”

Chung will take care of the agency’s key accounts including Fonterra, Ocean Park, General Mills and Wrigleys.

Chung's early career started at the media department of Ogilvy & Mather. He has also worked for Maxus and Mindshare, and joined MediaCom in 2005.

In other news, MediaCom has scooped the media account of Hong Kong budget airline Hong Kong Express, in August without a pitch. The agency previously worked on projects with the client’s creative agency, An Agency, before and the new campaign kicked off in early September with new print ads and digital focus for the airline's online booking business.
