MediaCorp persists with 'Saving Gaia' campaign

SINGAPORE - One year after MediaCorp faced a backlash against its World Environmental Day campaign that forced its TVC to be taken off air, the media company has launched its third conservation campaign titled 'Saving Gaia' in hopes of a more favourable public response.

MediaCorp persists with 'Saving Gaia' campaign
The annual campaign revolves around a TVC featuring the company’s message to save the planet for a better future. Other components of the campaign include both online and on-site competitions.

The 2008 campaign featured a child’s doll being mangled to illustrate the devestation of deforestisation. The graphic imagery prompted complaints that led to the premature conclusion of the campaign eight days after its launch.

Beginning 1 June, MediaCorp will honour the day on its television, radio and print platforms by running green-themed programming.
