Effective last month, the one-year contract came after a competitive pitch in July.

The tech company’s XBOX and hardware businesses will continue to be handled by Edelman.

IN.FOM, meanwhile, will be helming Microsoft's communications programs, including strategic counsel and media relations for its corporate reputation, consumer and enterprise product marketing priorities.

To tap into the social world, IN.FOM partners with Omnifluence to develop strategies and ideas for Microsoft Singapore's marketing and communication efforts.

IN.FOM and Omnifluence are currently involved in several communications campaigns across different business priorities. They recently planned and executed the launch of Windows Phone 7.5 in Singapore.

Verdayne Nunis, central marketing & PR group manager of Microsoft Singapore, noted that the IN.FOM-Omnifluence team took a different but refreshing approach with recommendations during the pitch presentation.

“The Microsoft Singapore team, consisting of senior communications and marketing professionals, appreciated their maturity, creativity and the experience which they bring to the team, both in strategic PR and digital capabilities.  The leadership and hands-on approach taken by its senior partners, together with the support of a highly experienced team are necessary to address opportunities and the diverse needs of businesses and audiences which we serve,” she added.

The IN.FOM client servicing team for Microsoft Singapore will be led by one of its founding partners, Wong Voal Voal.

Commenting on the win, Wong said, "We are glad to find in Microsoft, a team of communications people who share our vision to always find creative and impactful ways to reach out to increasingly sophisticated stakeholders. We look forward to partnering with Microsoft in Singapore to win more hearts and minds.”

Founded in 2011 by Wong and Mike Liew, IN.FOM provides partner-led strategic communications services in Singapore and Asia.

Liew was previously the managing director for Burson-Marsteller’s corporate/financial practice, while Wong was formerly the lead for Hill & Knowlton’s Asia Pacific regional technology practice.

Omnifluence, meanwhile, was founded in 2011 by Melvin Yuan, helping companies to create business value through the strategic adoption of social media and social computing technologies in stakeholder engagement.
